Sexual Health Certificate Program

The work of Sex and Aging Biomechanics is, in many ways, sex education. It is sex education with a biomechanical and ergonomic twist, but it is sex education nonetheless. As such, last year I decided to expand my knowledge base beyond biomechanics and ergonomics to include the biopsychosocial aspects of human sexuality. Consequently, I applied for and was accepted into the University of Michigan’s Sexual Health Certificate Program. The program is housed within the School of Social Work. It is a one-year certificate program with three tracks for people interested in three careers: educator, counselor, and therapist. I chose the sex educator track. Today is the first day of the program.
